Beschreibung:
Bernd Franke's MYO is a violin concerto in seven movements, composed between 2011-2015. It was commissioned by the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and first performed by them on 21 May 2015, conducted by Michael Sanderling, with soloist Sebastian Breuninger. One of the main sources of inspiration for MYO is the Asian theory of five elements, stemming from Taoism, a theory for the description of nature. This five-element theory examines the principles that determine the dynamic processes and transformations in the realm of the living, emphasizing becoming, change and decay. The concerto has a duration of around 30 minutes. Full score in A3 format.
