Mary's Prayer for choir and orchestra or piano is an unusual and beautifully simple, direct carol, recalling the Angel Gabriel's message to the Virgin Mary that she was chosen to bear God's son, who would be named Jesus. Her prayer forms the chorus - Mary asks that her little son be kept safe from those whom would shun his teachings.
Orchestration:
2 Flutes, 1 Oboe, 2 Clarinets in Bb, 2 Bassoons, 2 Horns in F, 2 Trombones, Percussion (1 player: Glockenspiel, Tubular Bell [Ab]), Harp (or Keyboard)
Strings (Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello, Bass)
Choir - SATB or SA+Men or SSA or TTBB
Choir copies are available separately:
SATB (GM375), SA+Men (GM376), SSA (GM377) or TTBB (GM378).
The orchestral parts are the same for whichever choir version is used.
