Built on the pentatonic scale, this exuberant march with an oriental flair will delight players and audiences alike. Written for string orchestras with optional piano, a combined 1st/2nd Violin part (16 copies in each set) promotes greater confidence in passages calling for simple double-stops on open strings. Midway through the piece Del Borgo employs canonic and pizzicato techniques for textural contrast; in his score notes he mentions the importance of maintaining a steady tempo during the pizzicato section.
