Déchiffrages Pour Batterie - Vol. 1 is the first volume of a series of two focusing on the reading of rhythms for Drums. Written by Emmanuel Boursault and Guy Lefevre, this bookshould be used as a complementary work to the traditional Drum methods.
This method introduces the players to repetitions, coda, D. C. Fill, different measures (3/8, 5/8, 5/4) and improvisation among others aspects of the rhythms. Déchiffrages Pour Batterie - Vol. 1 also uses a manuscript font in order for the student to become familiar with the kind of sheet music they could face in their everyday work.
Emmanuel Boursault and Guy Lefevre were both Conservatoire professors, who contributed to the creation of the Emmanuel Boursault school of Drums.
