Arnold Sherman combines two familiar Christmas melodies in this gentle, flowing, ballad-style setting. It begins with a hint of the familiar Polish Carol ('Infant Holy, Infant Lowly'), then moves immediately into a presentation of 'Away in a Manger, ' set here in a 4/4 meter. The combination is especially pleasing when the Polish Carol reappears in the bass line on the optional handchimes.
