Die leichten bis mittel-leichten Orchester-Arrangements der Serie Belwin Intermediate String/Full Orchestra von Belwin Music bedienen sich der Klassik, dem Jazz und mancher Titel der Populärmusik. Sie können von einer reinen Streicher- bis zur vollen Orchesterbesetzung gespielt werden und sind in den Tonarten bis 2♭- und 3♯-Vorzeichen sowie den Taktarten 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 und Alla Breve gehalten, die kleinsten Notenwerte sind 16tel, es kommen Triolen und Punktierungen vor (Schwierigkeitsgrad 2 - 3).

Bläserbesetzung: Flöte, Oboe, Klarinette 1/2, Bassklarinette, Fagott, Horn in F, Trompete 1/2, Posaune, Tuba

- Chopstix Variations (with Opt. Piano Solo) arr. von Jerry Brubaker: Eine amüsante Reihe von Perspektiven auf »Chopstix« (›Essstäbchen‹), die selbst den unerfahrensten Klaviersolisten in den Bann ziehen können. Die Streichergruppe unterstütz den Piano-Part dabei. Zu den Variationen gehören ein Standardwalzer, ein Wiener Walzer und eine Rumba, die mit einer Rockvariation endet. Ein entzückendes Arrangement aus der Feder von Jerry Brubaker, das auch optional mit einer reinen Streicherbesetzung gespielt werden kann. Ein toller Titel für jedes mittelschwere Programm und einfach einzustudieren für Ihr fortgeschrittenes Orchester. – (Grade 2)
- Jazzy Little Brown Jug von Joseph E. Winner: Seien Sie bereit zum Swingen und erinnern Sie sich an die Tage der Big-Band-Ära! Tolle Übung zum Spielen von Swing-Achtelnoten. Dieses Arrangement von Jack Bullock funktioniert gut mit Streichern allein oder einer beliebigen Kombination von Bläsern. – (Grade 2,5)
- Motet von Johannes Brahms: Atemberaubend und großartig! Mit Streichern allein oder mit zusätzlichen Bläsern für Konzerte und Wettbewerbe. Brahms‘ Originalbesetzung dieses wunderbaren Stücks war für Orgel und vierstimmigen Chor. Es stammt aus der gleichen Zeit wie sein berühmtes »Deutsches Requiem«. Vieles der wunderbaren Feierlichkeit des Requiems kommt in dieser Motette in der Orchesterbesetzung von Jerry Brubaker zum Ausdruck. – (Grade 3)
- Galileo's Vision von Ralph Ford: Dieses im Holst-Stil verfasste Stück würdigt die wissenschaftlichen Errungenschaften, die aus der Vision Galileos hervorgegangen sind, einschließlich unseres GPS-Systems – Denken Sie daran, wie weit wir gekommen sind! Die Originalkomposition aus der Feder von Ralph Ford beginnt mit einem bedrohlich fließenden Bass-Ostinato, das sich zu einem kühnen Höhepunkt steigert, und nutzt Dreitonverschiebungen, die die Hörfähigkeiten fördern, während die Schüler dem sich ständig verändernden Tonzentrum lauschen. Dissonant, intensiv und mit Sicherheit mitreißend! – (Grade 3,5)
- Largo (»Going Home« from the New World Symphony) von Antonín Dvořák: Jeder erinnert sich an den Untertitel »Going Home«. Dieser wohltuende Englischhorn-Ohrwurm aus der Symphonie № 9 E-moll op. 95 wurde von Jerry Brubaker kreativ für Ihr erfahrenes Orchester arrangiert. Obwohl es in dieser vertrauten Melodie einige exponierte Holzbläserpassagen zu geben scheint, sind sie großzügig mit ♯-Stichnoten versehen, so dass das Werk nur mit Streichern und Klavier spielbar ist. Eine herzerwärmende Konzerteinlage, an die man sich noch viele Jahre erinnern wird. – (Grade 4)
- Patriotic Bits & Pieces (Based on Favorite American Themes) arr. von Michael Story: Dieses Fahnenappell-Medley, welches von Michael Story nur für Streicher oder eine beliebige Kombination zusätzlicher Bläser arrangiert wurde, läßt Amerika-Liebhaber sicherlich nicht ruhig auf dem Konzertsaalplatz sitzen. Verarbeitet wurden: You're a Grand Old Flag • The American Hymn • Manhattan Beach • Chester • America (My Country 'Tis of Thee) • Yankee Doodle • Battle Hymn of the Republic • America the Beautiful – und das Ganze in nur 3′30″! Na dann: »God bless' America« – (Grade 4)
