- Themes from Pictures at an Exhibition von Modest Mussorgski: Erkunden Sie zusammen mit Ihrem jungen Ensemble eine der großartigsten Kompositionen des 19. Jahrhunderts: Arrangeur Patrick Roszell wählte drei Themen aus Mussorgskis Meisterwerk aus, in denen Sie viele Möglichkeiten an Artikulation, Phrasierung und Dynamik zu arbeiten finden werden. - Pachelbel Canon von Johann Pachelbel: Der Kanon ist ein kontrapunktisches Mittel, das von Komponisten im Laufe der Musikgeschichte immer wieder verwendet wurde. Dieser Kanon stammt aus dem siebzehnten Jahrhundert, Johann Pachelbels bekanntestes Werk. Das wunderschöne Stück Musikgeschichte hat seinen Weg in buchstäblich Hunderte von Aufführungsorten gefunden, vom Konzertsaal bis zu den Soundtracks von Fernsehwerbung und Filmen.
Das würdevolle Arrangement von Charles Sayre beginnt leise, und während die Stimmen die melodische Linie wiederholen, steigert es sich zu einem passenden Finale – eine hochwertige Bearbeitung einer weltberühmten Melodie. - Moorside March von Gustav Holst: »A Moorside Suite« wurde 1928 als Teststück für den in jenem Jahr stattfindenden Meisterschaftswettbewerb des National Brass Band Festival geschrieben. Das dreisätzige Werk enthält ein fröhliches ›Scherzo‹, ein liebliches ›Nocturne‹ und den beliebten ›March‹, der seit seiner Uraufführung unzählige Aufführungen erlebt hat. Douglas E. Wagner schuf dieses Arrangement mit Blick auf jüngere Spieler. Obwohl es leicht gekürzt ist, sind die Hauptthemen und -stile in einem sorgfältig ausgearbeiteten Aufführungsstück enthalten, das für Konzertbands auf diesem Niveau zugänglich ist. Dieses authentische Arrangement trägt immer noch Holsts unverwechselbare musikalische Handschrift.
