Alle Noten der Serie 'Discovery Jazz' von Hal Leonard
Die sehr leicht bis leichten Big Band-Arrangements der Serie Discovery Jazz von Hal Leonard sind bereits ab einer Besetzung von 3 Saxophonen, 2 Trompeten, 1 Posaune und Rhythmusgruppe spielbar (Schwierigkeitsgrad 1 - 2).
Somit eignen sich die Noten perfekt für Schüler-Big Bands, da sich auch die Titelauswahl sehr an den Interessen junger Musiker orientiert.
In der Discovery Jazz-Reihe sind auch zwei Sammelbände erschienen: Discovery Jazz Collection und Discovery Jazz Collection 2.
Hier sind sechs repräsentative Beispiele aus der Serie ›Discovery Jazz‹:
- Don't Know Why von Jesse Harris & Norah Jones: Hier ist ein schön geschriebenes Arrangement des preisgekrönten Hits von Norah Jones, das für Anfänger gedacht ist. Die Eröffnungsstrophe kann entweder als Saxophonsolo oder als Teilabschnitt gespielt werden. Später bekommen die Blechbläser einen Vorgeschmack auf die Melodie und es gibt ein kurzes geschriebenes (opt. ad lib.) Solo für Trompete. Sehr smooth! Arrangiert von Michael Sweeney.
- Gimme Some Lovin' von Stevie Winwood, Spencer Davis & Muff Winwood: Dieser klassische Rockhit (berühmt geworden durch die legendären ›Blues Brothers‹) aus den 60er Jahren klingt heute genauso dynamisch wie bei seiner Erstaufnahme. Die Saxofone und Trompeten wechseln sich bei der Melodie ab, und für jedes Saxophon gibt es ein Solo (oder Soli). Dieser Titel wird bei Anfängerbands großartig klingen. Arrangiert von John Berry.
- My Little Suede Shoes von Charlie Parker: Der Klassiker von Charlie Parker in einem sehr leichten Arrangement von Paul Murtha. Die Ausgabe ist mit leichten Soli für Saxophon und Trompete besonders für Anfänger geeignet.
- The Way You Look Tonight von Dorothy Fields & Jerome Kern: Aus dem bekannten und oft aufgenommenen Songbuch von Jerome Kern finden Sie hier eine sehr einfache Version dieses bekannten Standards. Das gemäßigte Swing-Arrangement aus der Feder von Rick Stitzel wird bei Anfängern großartig klingen und schnell zusammenpassen.
- Riders on the Storm von ›The Doors‹: Einer der bekanntesten Hits der Rockgruppe ›The Doors‹. Das mittelschnelle Rock-Arrangement von Paul Murtha ist modaler Natur und macht die Soloabschnitte leicht zu handhaben.
- Autumn Leaves von Jacques Prevert, Johnny Mercer & Joseph Kosma: Hier ist eine leichte Version des zeitlosen Klassikers von Joseph Kosma, in der die Saxophone im Rampenlicht stehen, es aber auch ein kurzes Solo für Trompete gibt. Hervorragend arrangiert von John Berry!
- All I Want For Christmas Is You von Walter Afanasieff & Mariah Carey: Mariah Careys Weihnachtshit in einer wunderbaren Swing-Fassung von Rick Stitzel mit leichten Rhythmen für junge Bands. Wenig Probenarbeit – großartiger Klang!
