Hier sind drei repräsentative Beispiele aus der Belwin-Serie ›Young Jazz Ensemble‹:
- Chameleon von Herbie Hancock: Endlich gibt es ein Stück von Herbie Hancock für die Nachwuchs-Band! Aus Hancocks berühmter Headhunter-Aufnahme bietet sich hier eine großartige Gelegenheit, den größten Jazz-Rock-Hit aller Zeiten zu spielen. Die Melodie wird zunächst von Alt, Tenor, Trompete und Posaune gespielt, dann von der Trompetensektion. Als nächstes folgt ein flexibler offener Soloabschnitt mit einer Sololinie, die für alle Bläser arrangiert wurde, sodass jeder oder jede Solostimme spielen kann! - Eye Of The Tiger von Frank Sullivan & James Peterik: Unerschrocken! Dieses Thema aus ›Rocky III‹ hat einen kraftvollen Groove, der immer weiter voranschreitet. Keine Soli, eine leichte Blechbläser-Range und ein schönes Zwischenspiel, das alle glücklich macht. Das perfekte lustige Arrangement für jeden Anlass – darf nicht fehlen. Ebenfalls arrangiert von Victor López.
- A Tribute To 'Trane von Mike Lewis: Eine Hommage an den großen John Coltrane, einer Jazzlegende! Der Komponist & Arrangeur Mike Lewis hat ein zugängliches Medium-Swing-Chart für junge Bands erstellt, das auf der charakteristischen Coltrane-Akkordfolge aufsteigender kleiner Terzen basiert. Dieser Titel richtet sich an jüngere Spieler und verfügt über ein ausgeschriebenes Trompetensolo und zahlreiche Unisonostimmen. Die Teile der Rhythmusgruppe sind klar notiert. Der Tonumfang der Lead-Trompete reicht bis zum geschriebenen G oben im Notensystem.
