This was the first published piece by Dominique Wyckhuys. Although the composer has never put a foot in Brazil, he nevertheless is attracted to its lively and rhythmical music. After an opening which features the percussion, the orchestra play an introduction. The spotlight is then centred on the saxophone section as they perform the main theme. They are joined by the trombones before the piece ends in a firework display worthy of the Carnival in Rio.
