When visiting Oslo I always try to manage to see the Castle Guards' Parade marching from Akershus Fortress to the Royal Castle (in the summer season). There is always a feeling of spirit and solemnity when the military band leads the procession through the city and the Karl Johan Street up to the Castle, for the changing of the Castle Guards. A dear tradition for the locals as well as visitors to the Norwegian capitol.
This march was composed after watching one of theese parades in spring of 2018. The first military band to play the march was the Royal Norwegian Marine Band.
