he "Jungle" in Jungle Fever has two meanings - firstly a reference to 'jungle' music, a style of popular music style derived from the techno genre, and which was an initial inspiration on the piece. (However the end result has moved away significantly from this initial influence. The work is not a piece of jungle music). The second reference concerns the 'programme' of the piece, which has to do with tropical diseases (i.e. also the "fever"), and the sense of repetitive delirium that I imagine sufferers would experience. notes by Matthew Hindson.
