Beschreibung:
Originally composed in 2011 for Anne Akiko Meyersa and her daughter Natalie, it was later orchestrated for Marin Alsop's 20th season at the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, and has been transcribed for band. This originalversion is accessible to musicians and audiences, yet extremely sensitive with its dramatic sonorities, the music is both soothing and subtle even as the tonality is stretched. Soothing and lush, John Corigliano's 'Lullaby forNatalie' could lead a drowsy child toward a land of blissful slumber...this piece holds special significance for [Anne] Akiko Meyers: It was commissioned by her husband as a surprise to welcome their new daughter, Natalie, intothe world...G. Schirmer has released the lullaby in print for violinists who want to explore this lovely, heartfelt piece. --Strings magazine
