Beschreibung:
Mozart's personal affection for the woodwinds is evident in his many concertos, quartets, quintets and the three serenades. No proper high function in the middle 18th century sees to have been complete without music composed particularly for the occasion. The famous Serenade No. 10, K. 361 was intended for just such a court occasion. Written in 1781 to seek the favor of Carl Theodore's court in Munich, Rondo (alla Turca) is the last of seven movements in the Serenade. This arrangement of original wind music lends itself nicely to the mixed clarinet quartet medium. The edition has included an alternate 3rd clarinet part to be used in place of the alto clarinet.
