Beschreibung:
Halling by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg originally for piano solo is presented here with a rhytmically modern flavour. A great arrangement of Norwegian traditional music which challenge the band!
This arrangement of Halling is an excerpt from the Lyric Pieces for solo piano op. 47 by Edvard Grieg. The same music also appear for solo violin in act no. 1 of the Peer Gynt music. The arranger has tried to keep the original form and original harmony, but the music is made more syncopated and the harmonics are extended at the second implementation.
This arrangement was performed for the first time at the opening ceremony for the 2011 World Ski Championships in Holmenkollen, Oslo in February 2011.
