Mozarts musikalisches Universum
Insgesamt rund 60 Sinfonien, 30 Klavier- und fünf Violinkonzerte werden W.A. Mozart zugeschrieben, daneben weitere Konzerte für Soloinstrumente, zahlreiche Kammermusiken, ein umfangreiches Repertoire an Klaviermusikkompositionen und Kunstliedern.
Für das Wiener Publikum schuf Mozart deutschsprachige Singspiele wie Die Zauberflöte mit hohem Unterhaltungswert und Anspielungen an seine Mitgliedschaft in der Freimaurerloge, sowie italienischsprachige Opern wie z.B. Le nozze de Figaro; insgesamt komponierte Mozart 21 Opern und Singspiele.
Auch in der Kirchenmusik war Mozart ein wichtiger Vertreter seiner Zeit; neben 17 Messen schuf er Kantaten, Oratorien, Vespern und wohl sein bedeutendstes Werk, das Requiem d-moll, welches nicht mehr von ihm selbst, sondern von Joseph Eybler und Franz Xaver Süßmayr, ein Schüler von Mozart, im Auftrag von Constanze Mozart (der Witwe des Komponisten) vollendet wurde.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, das in Salzburg geborene Wunderkind, ist eine zentrale Figur der Wiener Klassik. Sein außergewöhnliches Talent zeigte sich bereits in frühester Kindheit und führte zu einem unsterblichen Gesamtwerk von über 600 Kompositionen. Zu seinen berühmtesten Werken zählen die Oper Die Zauberflöte, die Serenade Eine kleine Nachtmusik und sein bewegendes Requiem.
