Beschreibung:
Zum gleichen Genre zählt die Romance von Anton Rubinstein. Auch er war zugleich Komponist und Interpret, galt als einer der größten Pianisten seiner Zeit. Ausgebildet in Moskau trat das Wunderkind mit neun Jahren zum ersten Mal öffentlich auf und unternahm dann seine erste Auslandtournee: nach Paris, wo er Franz Liszt traf, der ihn fortan unterstützte. Dank seiner internationalen Aktivitäten wurde Rubinstein zunehmend bekannt: als Pianist wie als Komponist. Sein musikalisches Erbe ist immens, umfasst musikdramatische, kammermusikalische und sinfonische Werke, Vokal- und Klaviermusik. Seine Romance, im Original für Klavier solo, entstammt der Sammlung 'Kamennoi-ostrow' ('Felseninsel'), mit dem Untertitel 'Album de Portraits pour Piano' op. 10 von 1854. Wie die berühmtere 'Melodie in F' ist die Romanze ein hübsches Charakterstück. Vorlage: Stichnummern 02382 (Klavierstimme) und 02381 (Violinstimme), als StNr. 25957 erstmals 1896 veröffentlicht.
