'How to work with quartertones in a context where the main characteristic is the timbre? I decide to take advantage of the symmetry offered by the guitar duo to change the tuning slightly. In this way, one of the guitars tunes strings 1, 3, and 5 a quartertone lower. The other guitar tunes strings 2, 4, and 6 down a quartertone. Through this, all the notes are possible between the two guitars. However, this system of tuning forces me to write with exact precision, because the notes that can be made on string 1, for example, can't be made on string 2. This system creates a complicated notation, but it is imperative to created the sonority desired in this work.'
